The Positive Environmental and Economic Impact of Remanufactured Parts
A remanufactured- or "reman" - part is a high quality alternative to a new part. Remanufactured is a process in which used parts are examined, restored, inspected,
and tested to meet or exceed original specifications. In many cases the remanufacturer can improve on the original part by identifying known failures and fixing them during the remanufacturing process. Best of all, remanufactured parts are generally less expensive than new parts.
Universal Manufacturing Company is a member in good standing of the Automotive Parts Remanufacturers Association (APRA). The recycling of component parts not only saves money over the price of new, but also saves natural resources required in the production of new components. Recycling these components also saves on space that would be taken up in landfills. In 2005, nearly 9.5 million automobiles were reclaimed for recycling purposes.
Quite simply, remanufactured parts are economically and environmentally friendly.
